Invariant Manifolds as Boundaries for Event-Driven Control Systems

چکیده
ABSTRACT In event-driven control approaches, control updates are triggered by event conditions that are often characterized by different types of boundaries defined in the state-space domain. In this paper we define an event-driven control approach where boundaries are manifolds characterized as invariant sets. With such a boundary, a control update will only be activated when the system trajectory intersects the boundary. And the system trajectory must intersect again the boundary to activate the next control update. For linear systems, we derive an scaling property for these boundaries that permit to regulate the accuracy of the control without altering the timing offered by the scaled boundary.

Nonsmooth control design for stabilizing switched linear systems by left eigenstructure assignment
Novel design algorithms for exponential stability of switched linear systems using the left eigenstructure assignment approach by state feedback control are proposed in this article. For given switching constraints in the state space R, a state feedback controller for single-input switched systems is designed, based on the fact that closed loop system solutions are enforced to converge towards ...
متن کاملStatistical cosymplectic manifolds and their submanifolds
In this paper, we introduce statistical cosymplectic manifolds and investigate some properties of their tensors. We define invariant and anti-invariant submanifolds and study invariant submanifolds with normal and tangent structure vector fields. We prove that an invariant submanifold of a statistical cosymplectic manifold with tangent structure vector field is a cosymplectic and minimal...
متن کاملRigorous Enclosures of Slow Manifolds
Slow-fast dynamical systems have two time scales and an explicit parameter representing the ratio of these time scales. Locally invariant slow manifolds along which motion occurs on the slow time scale are a prominent feature of slow-fast systems. This paper introduces a rigorous numerical method to compute enclosures of the slow manifold of a slow-fast system with one fast and two slow variabl...
متن کاملTime-Invariant State Feedback Control Laws for a Special Form of Underactuated Nonlinear Systems Using Linear State Bisection
Linear state bisection is introduced as a new method to find time-invariant state feedback control laws for a special form of underactuated nonlinear systems. The specialty of the systems considered is that every unactuated state should be coupled with at least two directly actuated states. The basic idea is based on bisecting actuated states and using linear combinations with adjustable parame...
متن کاملInvariant Control Sets on Flag Manifolds and Ideal Boundaries of Symmetric Spaces
Let G be a semisimple real Lie group of non-compact type, K a maximal compact subgroup and S ⊆ G a semigroup with nonempty interior. We consider the ideal boundary ∂∞(G/K) of the associated symmetric space and the flag manifolds G/PΘ . We prove that the asymptotic image ∂∞(Sx0) ⊆ ∂∞(G/K), where x0 ∈ G/K is any given point, is the maximal invariant control set of S in ∂∞(G/K). Moreover there is ...
